nVision on Citrix
We recently upgraded to PeopleTools 8.53.17/Financials 9.2 and moved to a virtual server architecture (HyperV) for our PS servers. As part of this infrastructure re-organization, we also switched to make our users go through Citrix (XenApp 6.5 on Windows Server 2008 R2) to get to the three-tier nVision client. Previously, the nVision power users ran the nVision/Excel client directly on their workstations but due to performance issues (the VM is no longer "local" to the users) over the WAN, we set them up to use Excel 2013 (with nVision) through Citrix.
For the most part (once you get past the initial user setup) it works great. However, the users are reporting strange issues that cause them to lose work. Things like Excel locking up, or crashing, or problems running multiple drilldowns. Everything appears to be set up correctly on the Citrix server and there are no logs or anything I can use to troubleshoot this.
