General 9.2 PUM/Change Assistant patching questions

Hi all,

I need some help from any of you experienced with PUM/CA related to system availability and the handling of invalid views after patching through PUM/CA.

For starters we are hosted by Oracle Manage Cloud Services they apply all of out patching for us, and due to the infrastructure they operate the PUM and CA I have no insight to them.

I have a patch that I want applied that comes with approx 142 prerequisites.  When Oracle applied the patches to our demo instance all in all it took about 3 days, Oracle insists that the actual patching was only about 10-12 hours of that.  Now we are in the process of applying the patches to dev. Initially, CA ran for 5 days and still did not finish the patching. Oracle tweaked the CA and were able to complete the patching in 2 days, but this patching resulted in 600 invalidated views.
