Search Function in Advanced Collections

In the Advanced Collections 'Search' session, the default for Customer By is Account.  When you try to execute a search, I receive the Error Message: Please specify values for at least one search criteria.  But, when I change Customer By to Organization, I am able to execute the search without any error messages.   Is there any way to change this default to 'Organization'?  Thanks!
