SDN Search Function XML

Hello.

Can anyone point me to Peoplesoft/Peopletools documentation on the SDN search function?  Specifically generating an XML to sendn to a 3rd party.  I found a line in their documentation about generating an XML for a 3rd party but I'm having difficultly finding any details.
