Appropriate MDS import method for OIM 11.1.2.x

I have OIM 11.1.2.2 installed and am installing the EBS UM connector 9.1.0.7.0.

I'm following:

Connector Guide for Oracle E-Business User Management

Release 9.1.0

E11203-16

September 2014

I'm at 2.3.3.9.2 Enabling Request-Based Provisioning

Should I use the 'weblogicImportMetadata.sh' script specified here or should I use the migration method specified in the 11.1.2 Developer Guide (E27150-17 August 2014)?

It appears the connector guide wants me to refer to an old version of the import method and the documentation is confusing here...
