Query ITEM DIFF Related.

Hi,

When we create an item in RMS where TRAN LEVEL is varient and ITEM LEVEL is LINE.

I mention a DIFF value is TYPE : Color and VALUE: BLACK then i am only able to create only one child of this item at each item level.

If i don't mention DIFF information then i can create more then one child at each level..

why it is like so?

please explain ..better if i can get some real time example.
