FCM - Parent Task across templates

We currently have a situation where we have three different templates of tasks for a group, Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly.  We then create one master template where we embed all of these templates into one.  I would like to have the parent tasks to be able to group the tasks based on different things (Close, Post-Close, Tax, etc.) .  However, I am not having any luck placing a parent task that would be representative of all templates.  Does anyone have any suggestions for this or if it will be available in 11.1.2.4?  Instead I am stuck with three embedded templates
