User spins then spawns multiple sessions after clicking on Favorite

We are using HCM 9.2, PeopleTools 8.53.15, Oracle database 12c.


During the past couple of months, there are times when one of our users clicks on a link from a Favorite, and their session spins.

Our DBA identified the user as having a long-running sql, and that the individual had multiple sessions.  When the DBA cancelled the session(s), that did not guarantee all sessions were killed.  In the course of several hours, we found even when the employee was no longer online that new sessions were being created after identified sessions had been killed, the SID and Serial #’s were all unique.  It appeared that when a session was killed a new one was initiated.
