null pointer exception when opening a workflow

Hello,

We have a situation where a user is trying to open a workflow from Nov 4, 2014.  When they do so, they get a null pointer exception.  I will attach a document that shows how to reproduce the error, and the entire java error message.  I think the problem is, because the workflow is over 4 months old, it has been partially purged, but for some reason, still has an open status.  We simply want to get rid of it.

Interestingly, the workflow can be reassigned, but then the new owner has the same issue with it.

Is there an api or script to delete this workflow?
