Is there a way to start over when defining a change package without restoring the image?

I started creating small packages with a few bugs included, but I want to not use those packages or remove them and instead create a new full package with everything not dependent on the prior created packages, however, I only get items that are not referenced in the prior packages.   A few of the other packages show up in the "Over Lapping Packages" grid or show up as already installed; yet I have not actually installed those packages yet into my target instance and don't want to run those other change packages through the process.  It appears that since I
