License Upgrade requires a system reboot for the SBC 4500?

Hi,

 

Is it necessary a system reboot via command for the SBC 4500 once a new license is loaded to it? I did not do so before and, as far as I remember; I did not have any issues leaving the SBC like that, with out rebooting it so licenses took effect immediatly.

 

Resently I read the 4500 release 6.2 manual and found a recommendation on rebooting the SBCs after a new license is loaded.

 

Last night we did the procedure as recommended in the manual and got a big service outage due to the reboot done via command and swithcover of the upgradding node so that we had to rollback the license upgrade and reboot the SBCs by turnning off and on each one of them in this node to bring the service back to normal.
