ICMP Ping and performance
Hello,
We've been asked what the impact is on the SBC resources (CPU, max sessions) when the media interfaces are configured to respond to ICMP pings from endpoints in the access network (internet). The endpoint software (a mobile APP) wants to use ping to measure network speed/latency in order to warn the users when the network reception is good or bad. Initially the APP did a ping to Google's 8.8.8.8 server, but they want to change it and do the ping towards the IP address of the SBC.
Does anybody know the amount of pings per timewindow (ballpark figure) the SBC can handle before it get strained too much?
