SBC not able to reach SSW IP address bacause is not getting MAC address dinamically.

 

We have an important issue which is not solved yet. The summary of this is as follow.

 

November of last year we found that for any reason; the SBC on its private side pointing to the SSW, stopped sending SIP requests to the last one causing a service outage.

 

We identified after some research that the reason was the fact the SBC did not had in its ARP table the match between the IP addresses & MACs of the SSW so the SBC was not able to send SIP request to this.

 

The work around has been manually creating static entries for the two IP address of SSW. But we need to find a final solution as every time an ARP refresh event is registered causing service outage and the SBC node getting irresposive due to the sipd process took all the CPU.
