Single physical/logical Network Interface configuration?

I'm new, so if this found anywhere else I'd be glad for a pointer.

 

Has anyone thought of or tried running an SD off a single network port, same IP for both ingress and egress traffic?

 

I'm running an SBC that's connected to customer's network via a switch, in parallel with his internal firewall and other external devices.  Trying to get around having to connect the SBC via two ports, if possible.
