Console adapter conversion
Acme Packet ships each Net-Net 3000, 4000, and 9000 series with a USB to RJ45 adapter which can be used with a straight-through cable to establish a console connection.
If you don’t have one of these, note that the Cisco Console adapter pinout is not the same as that of the console on an Acme Packet Net-Net System. Therefore, the Cisco Console cable, which is typical a baby blue RJ45 to DB9 cable, will not work straight out of the box.
However, the difference between the Cisco Console and the Acme Packet Net-Net Session-Director is transmit and receive. This could be overcome with a DB9 NULL MODEM adapter. If you place a DB9 NULL MODEM adapter inline between the DB9 end of the Cisco Console and the serial port on the computer running the terminal emulation software, you should be able to connect.
