calculation process performance

Hi,

We are on R1213 and RDBMS 11.2.0.2

Recently we have noticed that whenever we run calculations, it slows down the system. user start complaining about response.

The calculation process itself runs within 20-30 minutes, but during that time it slows down the entire system.

Is there any way to tune this process ?

I already have some of the performance docs on MOSC, but none is helping the situation.
