Is it possible to use the Pagelet wizard FREE_TEXT data type to trigger onclick HTML command?

I am trying to create a pagelet using the pagelet wizard that has HTML code that creates a button and when the user clicks the button a BI report gets created. I tried to do the simple test where the pagelet free text has the code below. But it never takes you to the link. I must be missing something. PeopleBooks says to use the Data Type of Free Text for (Use the free text data source to present complex formatted HTML in a pagelet. Select this data type instead of the HTML data type when you want to control all aspects of the HTML code, which will allow you to control use of cascading style sheets (CSS), JavaScript, and embedded media such as Adobe Flash.
