search definiton crawl status shows as running? why is this

we are trying to deploy the HC_GP_ABS_RQST search definiton, when deployed the deploy status shows as deployed but he crawl status shows indifenately as running, for its been 3 days still it is showing as running.

Checked with documents available and increased the crawl memory but still the status is showing as running.
