PeopleTools 8.54 overlapping field labels

Has anyone found a fix for the following? Page field labels overlapping in IE 10 after upgrading to PeopleTools 8.54 on some pages? Oracle is saying that it will not be fixed until Tools 8.55 and to use Chrome in the interim, though Chrome is not yet approved for use at my company.

Below is what Oracle says, yet they've closed bug 20223627 saying it is "not a bug", but also saying "The fix is expected to be ready for delivery in PT 8.55, no ETA is available." To me this seems contradictory.
