Anyone know what "Include Archive" does on FS_AUDITLOG_ENABLE page?

Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Audit Logging > Enable Audit Logging.

What does the "Include Archive" checkbox do?  PeopleBooks doesn't give any detail.  I can understand what it does on the Search Audit Logs page, but not here.  Anyone?
