PeopleTools Upgrade - Customizations

Hello,

We are upgrading Tools Only from 8.49 to 8.54. We have made customisations to delivered tools. What is the best process to carry forward the customisations to new tools version?

Change assistant step does ask to run a compare report on PPLT84CUR project. Should the compare report show custmisations ? or does it only show changes in the Tools (delivered).

Please Suggest how to retrofit the customisations into new tools release.
