Upgrade from HCM 9.1 to HCM 9.2

Would it be possible to use the edelivery install of HCM 9.2 to create my demo source.  Once I've completed creating demo source of HCM 9.2, I was thinking of using this as my upgrade source and approach the upgrade the old traditional way. Once I am able to upgrade my copy of production to HCM 9.2 base using the demo created from the vanilla installation I then can create a "Change Package" which will allow me to bring my upgraded copy of production to the latest Image number.
