IE changes to psc from psp after signout in separate window

So we are working on testing our current patching (from PT8.54.07 to PT8.54.10) plus weblogic and jdk some app bundles etc.  The issue that is occurring is the following

1. Using IE (with -nomerge in the shortcut) open two separate IE instances

2. Login to a patched environment in at least one of the windows (i.e. Demo)

3. Login to another enviroment (i.e Test)

4. In Demo browser navigate to a page i.e. job data and look someone up who has multiple rows of data and include history - or prepare to run a report

5. In the other browser TEST go do some task, i.e run a report, go to job data etc (it seems like any task will do, but staying on the home page doesn't seem to trigger it)
