After an upgrade from PT8.48.09 to PT 8.51.25 we get blocking locks on PSLOCK and PSVERSION. Also ge

We just upgraded from Tools 8.48.09 to 8.51.25.

Since the upgrade we are experiencing blocking locks on PSLOCK and PSVERSION

 

I have run the VERSION AE program, and cleared cache.

I observe locking with this statement:

SELECT VERSION, OBJECTTYPENAME

  FROM PSLOCK

  WHERE OBJECTTYPENAME IN ('QDM')

  FOR UPDATE OF VERSION ;

We have several 2/3-tier query clients.

The Appserver shows Queuing on the PSSAMSRV Appserver process, we have 6 SAM processes running and are still getting queuing.

Also 2-tier/3-tier logins sometimes hang, and saving a query frequently hangs.

The system worked fine 2 days ago before the upgrade.

All tables have good stats.

We are running oracle 10.2.0.4 on HPUX Itanium, App servers on RH Linux 6
