Can PUM be deployed on VM or red hat linux machine?

Our company policies doesn't allow to have a physical windows machine, what are the other options of deploying PeopleSoft Virtual appliance? Can we use a windows VM with 64 bit or Red Hat Linux machine to deploy PeopleSoft Virtual appliance?
