Monitor configuration setup

Hi,

I am trying to do Monitor configuration set up for one of our approval process "BI Invoice Approval". This is a custom approval process. This custom approval process is not availlable when I am trying to set up the monitor configuration. Do I need to do any setup before I configure the Monitor configuration for a custom approval process? Thanks.
