NTP Lead Second handling in Solaris - highlighting our KB article

As many System Administrators would be aware, a leap second is being added on June 30th at 23:59:59 UTC-time.  This is as dictated by the IERS (International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service) and is relatively regular occurrence (once every several years).

Our KB Article covering how NTP handles this in Solaris, for both NTPv3 (xntp) and NTPv4 (ntpd), has been kept up to date to cover the upcoming event for current Solaris versions.  Please be welcome to check it out here:

Leap Second Handling in Solaris - NTPv3 and NTPv4 (Doc ID 1019692.1)

This is currently our most popular technical document by Customer-Hits, in the whole Oracle Systems area (excluding SRU index documents).

Howdy, Stranger!
