Is there a way to use chartfield inheritance on regular VAT accounting entries?

I have a scenario where I need to allocate the VAT across multiple GL Business Units within AP. I am able to get the VAT amounts to be allocated to the other business units but I cannot figure out how to get the correct operating unit to be used. I have tried chartfield inheritance but it still just populates the AP Header BU operating unit for the VAT entries. Is there a way with configuration for this to work?

Scenario is this...

AP BU is US001 let's say.

Distribution GL BU's are US001, US002, US003.

Selected to have the VAT allocated across the Distribution BUs.
