Does Oracle SES database stores PII data?

We have recently upgraded PeopleTools to 8.54.08 with HR image 12 and in progress of implementing SES.

Now since we are keeping Oracle SES DB separate , we have queries before getting started.

1. Does Oracle SES database stores PII data?

2. If yes then can DB be encrypted the database and any impact of encryption on search functionality or any configuration changes required to be done in SES and PeopleSoft configuration?
