XML publisher output to a destination folder

Is there a way that that xml publisher PDF report to be sent to a shared folder. While running the report I am setting the output detination to File and specfied the file directory where I would like the PDF to be stored. Its doesnt do that. I can run the report fine when the output detination is web.
