Stop sending dunning letters automatically after the last letter being sent

We are on 12.2.4 Collectinos - Staged dunning method with 3 letters and 3 stages.

1. The requirement from the users is to send nothing after the last 3rd letter. Is that possible automatically and how can we achieve this?

We do not want to keep resending the last 3rd letter forever, or till the invoice gets paid.

2. If we put a delinquency on Staged Dunning Level = 0 manually, my understanding was, it would be removed from the next dunning run. Is this correct?

However, on the other hand, the Staged Dunning Level increases by 1 automatically, when a dunning is run: is "0" level an exception to this rule?  Or would it send again the letter #1 then?
