Application Designer won't open

Hello,

I just installed 8.54.10 on my workstation and I'm trying to open app designer to connect to a new 9.2 demo database.  The splash screen starts up, then disappears and nothing happens.  When I check task manager I see that pside.exe starts up with a decent amount of memory and then drops to around 1600K and hangs there. Below is my SQL trace.  I can open up data mover using the same oprid.  Any help would be appreciated.
