Run a Crystal Report directly from PeopleCode ?

Is there a clever way to run a Crystal Report directly from PeopleCode outside of the process scheduler?

For example you can use the reporting class objects in the API to create a PS query and a BI Publisher report directly. Is there a similar way to do that with a crystal report.
