Text copied from MS Word with apostrophe causes SQR to error. Does anyone have a solution

We allow applicants to paste text into question answers. If the text comes from MS Word, an apostrophe (and probably other characters) does not convert correctly. The SQR abends with this error:

(SQR 9004) TrueType font file albw.ttf cannot be opened. Please check if file exists, or correct font configuration in [TrueType Fonts] section of SQR.INI file.

If the apostrophe is removed and reentered, the error goes away. This is not practical. Is there a way to strip these odd characters out?
