Excel to CIs and SSO

Does anyone have experience with Excel to CIs and SSO? I recently opened a case asking about why our Excel to CI workbooks weren't working with SSO. Oracle has responded back stating that SSO isn't supported with Excel to CIs. However they referred us to a troubleshooting guide for excel to cis where users either bypassed SSO for Excel to CIs or customized their environment and excel to ci workbooks to handle SSO. Unfortunately, Oracle was unable to provide details on where to make these changes. I am looking for either a method to bypass SSO when using an Excel
