Can PeopleTools 8.54 nVision use .Net Framework 4.5 versus 4.0

I was asked by the Windows System Administrator if I really need .Net Framework 4.0 to use nVision with PeopleTools 8.54 if I have .Net Framework 4.5.  I do not find anything referencing this.  Does anyone know if 4.5 works or am I safest to just have them uninstall 4.5 and install 4.0 which is listed in the install documentation?
