PUM Upgrade source images and PUM PI images

Yes, there are 2 different types of PUM Images available.

The Upgrade Source image can be used as an upgrade source;  there are restrictions/requirements.  See document PeopleSoft Upgrade Source Images Home Page (Doc ID 1552580.1), and see the chart at the bottom.  Here's where you link to download the upgrade source image.

Plus, in the chart's far right column, there are restrictions listed such as English-only Psft environment or Oracle-only database platform.  Be sure to read this before decided to use / to not use an Upgrade Source image for your upgrade.

The other types of images are called PI, PeopleSoft update image. These are released quarterly by product.  They will contain the latest updates, fixes, maintenance, new features, and required-for-upgrade patches.
