Why can't I map a field to BOOK_CODE in Accounting Entry Definition page?

Why can't I map a field to BOOK_CODE in Accounting Entry Definition page, under Chartfield mapping?  I want to ensure all lines from a certain source are set to a particular book code value.

Chartfield BOOK_CODE is not allowed. (9000,344)
