Can I upgrade HCM9.1 to 9.2 using 9.2.15 as my source

I know the documentation says use the upgrade source image and not the latest PI as the source database. I would like to know if anyone has attempted the upgrade from the latest PI instead of using the upgrade source image and what issues were faced in the data conversion scripts.
