Question regarding PeopleTools certification

First, I'm not a PS, but I am and Oracle DBA supporting databases used by PS.

We have two PS apps, HR and FS, each with their own database.  Currently those databases are oracle 11.2.0.2 on Oracle Linux 5.  I will shortly be upgrading them to 11.2.0.4.  That is a prereq to moving the databases (not the apps) to Oracle Linux 6.  However, it has come to my attention that the certification for PeopleTools includedes not just the database version, but extends to the specific version of OS that the database is on.  For instance, the cert Matrix for PeopleTools 8.50 shows it is certified on Oracle Database 11.2.0.4 on Oracle Linux 5, but does not
