best practices for post-clone configuration of a PeopleSoft environment

Our organization is looking to streamline our post-clone configuration process to support a Production defect environment that will be refreshed weekly.  Are there users out there who have developed shortcuts (through scripting or other means) for cutting down the time required to reconfigure such an environment ?  Currently, we can reconfigure in 2-4 hours, but are looking to trim this if possible.

Software/Hardware:

PeopleSoft Fin/SCM 9.2

PeopleTools 8.54

Oracle 12C (12.1.0.2)

AIX 7.1
