PATCH method in REST based web service in PeopleTools 8.54.13

We have a requirement that we need to be able to use the PATCH method in a REST API web service, PATCH is a valid method in the REST API, but it isn't available in the options in PeopleSoft.  How can we get around this limitation in PeopleTools?  Is that possible?
