Using Verity Class search, facing Cannot serialize an API object error

Hi All,

We want to use the CS_DOCUMENTS Verity Search Index to search for the document keyword entered on the page.

I am trying to use the code mentioned on the Peoplebooks page: Verity Search Classes Examples

But I am facing below error:

Cannot serialize an API object of class SearchQuery.

  An object of class ApiObject(SearchQuery) failed to serialize.

Cannot serialize an API object of class SearchResultCollection.

An object of class ApiObject(SearchResultCollection) failed to serialize.

Anyone has any idea about why this error is coming? Is it something related to delivered API Classes not being available?

We are on PeopleTools 8.54.
