Partial Unpost - You may not select this entry type for a preeisting item

Hi,

I am trying out using 'Partial Unpost' under AR Unpost Payment Groups. I have found with some items I get a pop up message that says 'You may not select this entry type for a preexisting item' when trying to deselect items to unpost. What entry types can you deselect for partial unpost and why? Is it only types of 'PY'?
