I have applied 9.2 HCM Image 16. I am now applying PRP for ACA Patch. In reviewing "PeopleSoft Deployment Packages for Update Image Installation (PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.55)", page 134, Changing Access for PI_HOME. I followed these directions for Samba,

1. I stopped Samba: /etc/init.d/smb stop.

2.I changed password for user psadm3

3. I copied smb.conf to backup file.

4. I made changes - writeable = yes, added "guest ok = no", and added "valid users = psadm3" and saved file.

5. I then started Samba /etc/init.d/smb start

The directions then indicated that in order to access the pi_home, I will be required to provide user name psadm3, and password for that user.
