Can you import and load data to an already existing transaction?

Additional data is received about a transaction that is needed in the calculation after the transaction has been imported and loaded. Due to the volume of transactions, manually updating each transaction would be extremely time consuming.  Is there a way to import and load data to an already existing transaction?
