PeopleTools 8.55 - Can browser users continue to use 32-bit MS Excel & MS Word?

I've noticed that using 32-bit Excel still works in PT8.55 Demo when using the download to Excel.  Just wondering if all PC's would need to be upgraded for a PeopleTools 8.55 to 64-bit Word and Excel of if browser only users can keep using 32-bit?
