load on target while performing backup based duplication (with target connection) or from active

Hello,

I was wondering what is the difference (if there is a noticeable or negligible) between the load put on the target database while performing a backup based duplication from tape, with connection to target,  to another server (as no catalog exists) versus duplication from active.
