CLOB Query in Collections

Navigation : Collections Administrator -> Administration -> Manage Queries-> Create Query

Question1: any problems if CLOB query is checked? Any performance issues? 

Question2: if more than 4000 characters then it should be CLOB marked, does it consider for characters count -  the runtime sql (when for instance,  calling funcions content is added as well) or just whatever typed into the Query Editor when query is created? Thanks.
