GL Journal Approval Workflow

I have a scenario with GL Journal Workflow function that I want to see if anyone has figured out a way around...

If you have a journal that is cross-charging 10 other BU's besides the header BU, it will require 10 approvals before the journal can be posted...and will give the approver 10 separate email notifications and worklist items.  Mass approvals will help with the approving side, but the email and worklist notifications should be one per journal or one per header BU, but not one per each line BU.

Anyone have any solutions or workarounds?
